Thee Mighty Caesars - авторитетный гаражный бэнд из Медуэйя под руководством неугомонного Билли Чайлдиша (Billy Childish). Была сформирована в 1985 году, сразу после распада его предыдущей команды The Milkshakes. Сам Billy отвечал за вокал и гитару, на бас был принят John Agnew, а барабанил Bruce Brand (ex-Pop Rivets/Milkshakes). После записи дебютного альбома (1985) последнего заменил Graham Day из The Prisoners. В конце 70-х Childish, Bruce Brand и Graham Day уже совместно музицировали в The Pop Rivets. Thee Mighty Caesars были довольно продуктивной группой и за четыре года активности успели выпустить шесть альбомов. Банда распалась в 1989 году, после чего Childish запустил новый проект Thee Headcoats. Thee Mighty Caesars творили под лозунгом "не умеешь играть - играй громче и искренне" и были сторонниками сырого и первобытного звука. Группа сознательно игнорировала крупный шоу-бизнес, а свои альбомы писала используя винтажную студию и дешевое аналоговое оборудование. Thee Mighty Caesars вывели свой фирменный стиль (так называемый medway sound) на мировую карту и добились культового статуса не только на родине, но и в США. Например: влияние Билли Чайлдиша и его проектов признавали Курт Кобейн (Nirvana) и Джек Уайт (The White Stripes).
