Во второй половине 80-х, предположительно в 1986 году, музыканты распавшейся банды 4 Minute Warning: Sean Forbes (он же просто Толстый Боб), Simon Tucker и Smithy решив не останавливать совместное музицирование и балагурство, не долго думая сколотили Wat Tyler? позвав на женский вокал Julie. Эклектичный стиль, политические комментарии, сюрреалистический юмор и частные шутки - так любят характеризовать творчество банды различные музыкальные аналитики. На плаву группа продержалась вплоть до 2002 года, оставив наследие в виде: двух полноценных альбома, около десяти 7-дюймовок, нескольких сборников и кучи совместных пластинок с коллегами по цеху Thatcher On Acid, Leatherface, XPensive Dogs, Ex-Cathedra, Jesse, TheKabinboy, Mambo Taxi, J Church, Monkhouse, Freaks Union. Sean заведовал собственным лейблом Rugger Bugger Discs, паралельно успевал музицировать в The Phantom Pregnancies, а в середине 90-х замутил еще один шуточный Oi проект Hard Skin.
