И еще один, на сегодня последний, привет из 70-х - Eddie And The Hot Rods. Коллектив был собран в Саутэнде, графство Эссекс, весной 1975 года. На вооружение музыкантами был взят паб-рок, и по мнению многих критиков, они прочно связали гаражный британский ритм-энд-блюз 1960-х годов с панк-роком. Основной тематикой песен были выбраны -подростковые проблемы, парни не спешили лезть в социальные вопросы. Основателя команды звали Barrie Masters, а совсем не Eddie, как можно подумать глядя на название. Eddie на самом деле звали куклу, которую музыканты колотили на сцене на своих первых выступлениях. Уже к лету 1978 году команда была ведущим коллективом на паб-рок сцене, успела выпустить несколько успешных синглов, и альбом. Вторая долгоиграющая пластинка Life on the Line поднялась до 27 строки в UK Charts. Но так или иначе по всей Британии уже гремел панк рок и дни коллектива были сочтены - группа распалась в 1981 году. К слову один из участников группы - Paul Gray после играл в Damned. Barrie Masters организовал The Inmates, но видимо не получив желаемой отдачи, спустя пару лет реанимировал Eddie And The Hot Rods. С тех пор группа продолжает творческие порывы, меняя музыкантов, выпуская редкие релизы и время от времени уходя в продолжительные творческие отпуска.
