Penetration

Penetration начали играть в 1976 в небольшом городишке Феррихилл, графства Дарем. Группа с первых моментов шла в нужном направлении и довольно быстро стала добиваться заслуженного успеха у публики. В состав команды входили: вокалистка Pauline Murray, басист Robert Blamire, барабанщик Gary Smallman и его тезка, гитарист Gary Chaplin. Название для группы молодыми музыкантами было скромно позаимствовано у одной из песен Игги Попа. В ноябре 1977 на Virgin вышла дебютная семидюймовая пластинка группы Don't Dictate, восторженно встреченная как публикой, так и музыкальными критиками и имевшая довольно хороший коммерческий успех. ( В будущем названная критиками одним из классических панк синглов первой панк волны)
Вскоре в команде происходят и первые смены в составе: так новым гитаристом становиться Neale Floyd, а следом за ним прибавляется и второй гитарист Fred Purser. Второй сингл повторяет успех первого и группа приступает к записи дебютного альбома. Не обходит стороной коллектив и Джон Пил, пригласив  Penetration два раза поучаствовать в его знаменитой программе. В октябре 1978 на прилавках магазинов появляется долгожданный "Moving Targets". Чего и следовало ожидать альбом имел повсеместный успех, заняв 22 строку в UK Albums Chart, по итогам журнала Sounds 6 место в номинации альбом года, а NME в своих итоговых чартах поставила его на 13 позицию. По версии Allmusic: « Moving Targets - альбом стоящий в ряду последних истинно великих работ первой волны британского панк-рока». Penetration активно гастролируют по родной Великобритании, Европе и даже США. Второй альбом был менее оживленно и горячо встречен публикой и критиками, но устойчиво добрался до 36 строки в чартах. Penetration распались в 1980 году и реформировались в новом составе лишь в 2001.
