Постепенно, выпустив кучу отличных пластинок, ставших классикой жанра, музыканты медленно, но верно стали углубляться в дебри металла, что не совсем пришлось по вкусу поклонникам Группа распалась в 1987, но спустя несколько лет, в начале 90-х, вновь появилась на сцене и записав пару метализированных альбомов, не получив должного успеха снова ушла в молчание. За все годы творчества в группе сменилось довольно не малое количество участников, поэтому реюнион 2001 года в особенности был интересен старым поклонникам - Discharge собрались в оригинальном составе и вернулись назад к агрессивному звучанию 80-х. Вокалист Kelvin "Cal" Morris покинул банду спустя два года и его место занял уже не раз упоминаемый Anthony "Rat" Martin. Discharge сегодня это - новый вокалист Jeff "J.J." Janiak, басист Royston "Rainy" Wainwright, гитаристы братья - Anthony "Bones" и Terence "Tezz" Roberts, и барабанщик David "Proper" Caution.
